Deleting your Paletra account

Deleting inside the app

1. Open Paletra and go to the Profile tab.
2. Tap Account and sign-in.
3. Tap Delete my account.
4. Re-authenticate (with your password, or your linked Google / Apple account) and confirm the deletion.

Deletion starts and completes on your phone the moment you confirm. There is no waiting period and it cannot be undone. If your internet connection drops, following the same steps again is enough; the remaining steps are completed.

If you use Paletra as a guest, you can delete the guest session and the records tied to it the same way.

If you cannot access the app

If you changed your phone or cannot open the app, send an email with the subject "Account deletion request" to info@paletra.net from the email address registered on your account. We may ask for more information to confirm the request is yours.

Deleted permanently

• Your account and profile: your sign-in identity, name, email link, date of birth, taste profile, preferences, diet and allergies.
• My Paletra and health-related records: assistant settings, goals, water history, reminders, the meals you marked "I ate this" and your personal food list.
• Your whole private feedback history: likes, "Not for me" and the reasons, tried, favourites, the scores you gave; private notes you wrote to restaurants.
• Your Taste Journey: badges, their tiers, the counts behind them and the badges you chose to show on your profile.
• Your public profile and taste-comparison setting.
• Your community content: restaurant reviews, comments, likes, follows, guides you saved and reports you filed.
• If you are a Paletra Guide: your guide profile, every guide you wrote and the images you uploaded to them.
• Your live presence ("I'm here") and poll votes; your visit-verification records.
• Your contribution history and contribution points. Points are not transferred to another account.
• Devices registered for notifications (notification tokens).
• The records of which legal document versions you acknowledged or accepted.
• Records tied to you about menus from outside Paletra.
• Usage records that identify you.
• Your "I'd like it to join Paletra" requests and any restaurant application.

The Apple Health or Health Connect data on your phone does not belong to Paletra; because Paletra does not store it, it does not delete it or touch it.

Cancelled

• Your upcoming reservations, and any pre-orders on them that have not yet been prepared, are cancelled.
• Your unused rewards are cancelled; their codes become invalid.
• Upcoming meetups you planned are cancelled; you leave upcoming meetups you joined.
• An open "Undecided Gourmet" poll of yours is closed.

Records kept with your identity removed

The records below remain for restaurants' operating history and the community's functioning; but your name, user identifier, phone number, email and notes are deleted from them:

• past reservations and pre-orders;
• used rewards (a transaction the restaurant validated);
• past meetups — only how many people took part;
• past polls you opened — without who asked;
• restaurant and menu information you added to the community that Paletra accepted.

The one record kept after deletion

So that an interrupted deletion can be completed and deleted data does not come back, only a one-way digest (SHA-256) of your user identifier and the time deletion started are kept. This record contains neither your name nor your email nor any other information about you.

Deleting data without deleting your account

Without deleting your account you can also:

• delete individual likes, scores, meals, water entries and reviews;
• delete your water history and assistant settings with My Paletra settings → Delete the My Paletra data stored by Paletra;
• make Paletra start again on what it learned from your behaviour with Reset learned taste data.
